Ever thought about writing your life story but don’t know where to begin? In today’s Storyline, we’ll discuss writing a memoir and give you some simple actionable steps to get you started.
This was so relevant. I suppose because of co-vid, having young grandchildren, and being a child of the fifties, I have been thinking that I want to tell my story, I have been putting together a photo album( scanned photos that have been printed) Your podcast “spoke to me.” I would like to convince my friends and cousins to take up your suggestions. I love the last two ideas. As you say, younger people are busy,busy, busy!
I have my doubts about a lengthy memoir. After the first few pages many will quit reading, and few will finish writing a memoir.
How I wish my father, and grandfathers had spoken to me more!
So, suggestions to you for another podcast.
1) suggest gathering photos about just YOU, to tell your story
2) a box(es) of items such as awards, special treasures etc. I try to bring out a box of “treasures” at family dinners e.g. my grandfather’s jewellers’ tools
3) I have photo files for items such as my sports’ badges. (printed, too) The photos can be incorporated into a story.
Lastly covid has us all realizing that life is precious and can easily end. AND Thank you! I thought I was all alone in these thoughts you have voiced.

Exactly what I needed to hear today! Last night I put on paper thoughts about the 1950 census page for my husband as a three year old living in California.
